Your dress was chosen months ago. What goes under it usually gets decided the week before, in a panic. Here is the plan by neckline, so you can sort it at the first fitting and forget about it.
Plunging V-neck
Body Tape, applied in a V that mirrors the dress. Anchor each strip low on the outer breast and run it up toward the shoulder, keeping it an inch inside the edge of the neckline. Two strips per side is usually enough. Cover the nipples first. For a lot of lift on a bigger cup, add a horizontal strip underneath.
Backless or illusion back
Same crossover as above. Nothing crosses the back, so lace and illusion panels stay clean. If the dress has a very low back, keep the tape ends above the hip line and check the mirror from behind at the fitting.
Strapless and corset styles
Bandeau method: one long strip of Body Tape across the front, under the bust, pressing the breasts up and together as you go. Add a second strip on top of the first for support. Most corset dresses already hold; the tape just stops the day-long tug.
Off-the-shoulder
Usually you only need coverage, not lift. Nipple Covers and nothing else. If the dress is heavy, use the Lift Bra for shape.
The trial run
Do a full dress rehearsal with the tape at least a week out, for as long as the reception will last. You will learn how your skin reacts, how the dress moves and where the tape can peek out. Wedding day is not the time to find out.
The removal, on the night
Pack a small bottle of baby oil in the overnight bag. Soak the tape for 5 minutes, peel slowly, hold the skin. Do not let anyone rip it off.
