Short answer: body tape is a stretch fabric backed with a medical-grade, pressure-sensitive adhesive. The fabric decides comfort, lift and whether the tape moves with you. The adhesive decides hold, sweat resistance and what happens to your skin at removal. Cheap tape cuts corners on one or both. Ciralu Body Tape uses a breathable stretch fabric and a latex-free, medical-grade adhesive tested for hours of wear on skin.
The fabric
Good body tape stretches in one direction, along its length, and recovers. That is what gives lift: you stretch the strip as you place it, and the recovery holds the breast up. A tape with no stretch cannot lift, only hold in place; a tape that stretches both ways sags. The weave should be breathable so heat and sweat escape instead of pooling under the strip. Width matters too: a 7.5 cm (3 in) strip does the work of two narrow ones and leaves fewer edges to catch on fabric.
The adhesive
Look for three words: medical-grade, latex-free, hypoallergenic. Medical-grade acrylic adhesives are the same family used on skin dressings; they bond with body heat, resist water once set, and release with oil. Craft, gaffer or duct tape adhesives are made for wood and cardboard, not skin, and can take the top layer of skin with them. Read why in boob tape vs gaffer tape.
What sweat and water do
A heat-activated adhesive gets stronger for the first 20 to 30 minutes as it warms to skin temperature. After that, sweat and water do not lift it; friction does. Pat dry after a swim, never rub. Our waterproof guide covers pools, the beach and hot days.
What it should never contain
- Latex, the most common cause of adhesive rashes.
- Rubber-based glues that harden and crack.
- Fragrance or dyes on the adhesive side.

Frequently asked questions
Is boob tape safe for sensitive skin?
Medical-grade, latex-free tape is designed for skin. Do a 10-minute patch test on the inner arm first, and never apply on broken, sunburned or freshly shaved skin.
Is boob tape reusable?
No. The adhesive grabs once. One strip, one wear.
Does boob tape damage skin?
Not when removed with oil and slowly. Dry removal and same-day reapplication are what cause irritation. See how to remove boob tape.
